A high-energy weekend of competition, camaraderie, and fun wrapped up at the Summer Blast Off Event! With 15 teams across 3 age groups, the parks were packed with passionate players, supportive families, and great softball moments.

🌟 Player’s Spotlight: 

Each event, we spotlight a few athletes who stood out for their performance, attitude, and impact on the game.

Team Name/Player Name: Suncats Jimenez/Lopez; Pitcher: Emilee Cosgrove

Stats: A 5-0 record on the weekend with 18 strikeouts, a 0.00 ERA, and a batting average of .733, 3 doubles, 1 homerun, 11 RBIs.
Why They Stood Out: Emilee Cosgrove was a force on both sides of the ball, delivering clutch performances that powered Suncats Jimenez/Lopez through every game. Her presence on the mound and at the plate set the tone for a dominant championship weekend.

Stats: .778 batting average, an OBP of .833, multiple highlight reel plays that saved runs. 
Why They Stood Out:
Adysen consistent on base percentage provided the ability to consistently score runs throughout pool play & bracket play. A strong outfield is a pitchers best friend especially with 3 highlight level plays that saved runs!

Stats: A .750 batting average, 3 doubles, 10 RBIs, 9 runs, & 9 stolen bases.
Why They Stood Out:  Kennedy’s speed & bat were critical to this weekend’s strong offensive performance on offense & defense!

Team Name/Player Name: Suncats Jimenez/Lopez; First Baseman: Synxier Knight

Stats: A .667 batting average, 2 doubles, 4 HRs, 11 RBIs, & 10 runs scored.
Why They Stood Out: A dominant offensive performance that was a key contributor to their undefeated weekend. 

Team Name/Player Name: Suncats Jimenez/Lopez; Utility: Taylor Lugowski

Stats: A .750 batting average, 5 doubles, a triple, & a  HR complemented by a strong defensive performance, 
Why They Stood Out:  A two-way player as shown by a strong defensive performance & a dominant performance. Kennedy played a critical role in the team’s undefeated weekend!

14u Pool Play Shoutouts – Event Leaders

 

14U Pool Play Shoutouts – Event Leaders

As pool play wraps up, it’s time to recognize the top-performing teams across all 14U pools. These squads didn’t just top their groups—they made noise across the entire event with standout stats and team-first execution.

Pool 1 Winner: Suncats Jimenez/Lopez (+30 RD; max RD)

Record: 3-0-0
Runs Scored (RS): 44 (#1 in Event)
Runs Allowed (RA): 0
Highlight: Suncats showed consistent play on both sides of the ball scoring 44 runs & allowing 0 for a true team effort great job ladies!

Pool 2 Winner: Valley KIDS – Giosa 

Record: 3-0-0
Runs Scored (RS): 25
Runs Allowed (RD): 9
Highlight: A 3-2 win set the tone for the rest of their day as they went on to win 13-3 & 7-1 to finish poolm play out strong. Great job, ladies!

Final Word:

Whether it was airtight defense, hot bats, or tactical execution—these teams led their pools and the event. Congrats to all who showed up with purpose and played the game the right way.

🧢 Team Shoutouts – Bracket Play 12u

Mischief – Chu 12u Champions – An 8-3 Final Victory after a 5-4 battle in their first game led them to qualify for their national berth to Alliance Nationals in Indiana! Great job, ladies!

FC – Flash Cortez

After falling 8-3 to Mischief – Chu in the berth game, they bounced back strong to grab the second berth available after a tough loss. Way to battle back ladies!

Club All Star – Honorable Mention

After falling to 12u champions Mischief – Chu, in game 1, they battled their way back to the berth game in the consolation bracket & fell just short losing by a score of 8-2 to FC Flash – Cortez.

Final Thoughts
This bracket was a showcase of what youth softball is all about—competitive spirit, teamwork, and growth under pressure. Congratulations to Mischief -Chu for taking home the title, and kudos to all teams for putting on a show!

🧢 Team Shoutouts – Bracket Play 14u

🥇 1st Place – Suncats Jimenez/Lopez
The Suncats Jimenez/Lopez dominated from start to finish, going undefeated and showcasing elite pitching, consistent offense, and high-level execution in pressure moments. Their championship run was fueled by standout performances on both sides of the ball, establishing them as the team to beat.

🥈 2nd Place – The Valley Kids – Giosa
The Valley Kids battled their way into the championship game with grit and teamwork, holding opponents scoreless in earlier matchups and displaying solid defensive fundamentals. Their run to the finals proved they’re a rising force.

🥉 3rd Place – Lightning – Ray
Lightning – Ray bounced back from an early loss to battle for 3rd place, edging out a strong Lady Dukes squad to claim third place. Their resilience and clutch play in elimination games made them one of the most exciting teams to watch all weekend.

🧢 Team Shoutouts – Bracket Play 18u

Batbusters – Gomes/Cagiga put together a commanding performance with back-to-back wins over OC Batbusters TX – Sommerville, including a dominant 12-1 victory followed by a gritty 7-6 finish. Their mix of power, consistency, and clutch execution made them the clear standout in the matchup.
